I LOVE cookies! I LOVE good cookies! Dough girl makes GOOD cookies!
These are some mean and different cookies and it is all about the dough.
I first sampled Dough Girl at Caputo’s Localvores Market on a Saturday last summer and had to go try them at their place because I liked the quality of my samples, but not the flavors…
Let me explain… You see, the cookies here are based on dough combinations. My samples were the Audry, which is made with an almond dough and the Vivianna, made with an Orange Dough. I don’t like Marzipan or Orange, so I didn’t like the flavors of the cookies. But I will tell you that the texture and the quality were amazing. Rich, soft and thick, but not doughy or too dry. So I made a note to try the retail store for the other flavors listed on the menu.
So there I was a while back. Driving by and I saw the sign, immediately parked, started to go in, noticed the kids diaper was dirty, stopped and changed the diaper and then continued on in. (TMI, I know…)
It is a small shop with a couple of tables, a retro feel and a counter case full of cookies. BEAUTIFUL cookies and to your left is a freezer of dough so you can take them home and bake your own!!!
Today I sampled 4 cookies. The Lemon Drop, made with sugar cookie dough and lemon drop candies ( I liked it, but my wife didn’t). The Ricki made with coconut dough, chocolate chips, coconut almonds (My favorite). The Virginia which is Ginger, Dark Molasses and rolled in turbinado sugar (super good). And lastly, the Trudy a traditional chocolate chip, but not too traditional because it kicked ass!
All of the cookies, were delicious, wonderful and worth going back for. My Dough Girl is also constantly evolving and changing and adding new flavors (girls) to the menu. In addition they are also supplying local restaurants with cookies for desert. If you want regular updates on the new flavors you really should follow them on Twitter
